Essays and Literary criticism

If you are writing literary criticism, you have spent time studying and evaluating literature and how other writers use language. Literary criticism is often published in essay form and can be found in periodicals like the London Review of Books.

Writers of essays usually transcend genres, using fewer words to share political manifestos, philosophical musings, meditations on storytelling, and personal experiences. Popular essay authors include Rebecca Solnit, Emilie Pine, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, George Orwell and Annie Ernaux.
